Yes you need to buy a mandatory tracksuit that needs to be worn over uniforms for competitions and mandatory community events. If you bought a tracksuit last year that still fits your child, you don’t have to get a new tracksuit. Any other additional mandatory expenses will be informed before the first practice.
Uniforms are property of Ansonia Youth Cheer. Your child will be fitted for uniforms that are only to be used at competition. Absolutely no one is to use uniforms for personal use, parties or as Halloween costumes. Any damage to a uniform will result in cost to the parent or guardian of the athlete.
Yes every athlete in our program will compete in multiple competitions.
There are 4 competitions: Local, State, Regionals and Nationals. Locals will be in North Haven, States in New Haven,Regionals this year will be in New Hampshire which requires the athlete and parent/guardian to stay overnight in an approved AYC hotel and nationals is in Florida which requires the athlete and parent/guardian to stay 5 nights in an AYC approved hotel. All these extra expenses are to be paid by the athlete’s family or through fundraising.
All our practice will be at the Ansonia Armory 5 State St. Ansonia, Ct. 06401. Unless otherwise specified.
Practice begins 7/24/23. The first week requires 10 hours of conditioning. At that time your head coach will give you your child's schedule most likely for the whole season.
Yes everyone that will come in contact with your child in our league will have to do and pass a background check and yes all coaches need to be trained and certified on concussion, anti-bullying and protecting students from abuse. There will always be someone in the Armory who’s CPR certified.
